Introduction
Welcome to the Far Cry 5 Trophy Guide! This is a super easy and fun platinum, a perfect game for every trophy hunter! The trophies consist of some story, two side quest-lines, and some fun miscellaneous tasks. You need very little game completion overall. Most side quests can be skipped and you only need one collectible of every type, not all of them. Far Cry 5 also introduces a new "Arcade" mode, which is an Online-Only mode. There you can play with- or against other players. Most of those arcade trophies can still be earned solo, but require an internet connection and PS+ subscription. There are no missable trophies! You can just play the game any way you want and enjoy. The world is split into 3 territories and each has their own quest line. It doesn't matter in what order you play them, they are all equally easy and accessible from the start.
Step 1: Story, Miscellaneous Trophies, Spend $50,000 at the Garage
None of the trophies in Far Cry 5 are missable so just enjoy the game and play it how you want. Outposts can be reset once you've captured them all. After the story the game puts you back before the final story mission and you can keep exploring in free roam or join a friend's game to mop things up.
The story trophies that include "(Solo Campaign Only)" can only be earned in Singleplayer and by the host in Co-Op games. Yes, these "Solo" trophies can in fact be earned in Co-Op, but only the person hosting the game will get them, the 2nd player does not get any story trophies in Co-Op.
You can work on miscellaneous trophies along the way. Some of them are actually easier in the early game. Once you've liberated a region the enemy presence there will decline. So it's best to get them done early on so you don't have to end up resetting Outposts. All areas are open from the beginning and you can liberate the regions in any order you like.
Follow this YouTube Playlist for miscellaneous trophies, you can do all of them right after the prologue: Far Cry 5 Trophy Guide Playlist (YouTube)
Along the way, when you have 3 side quests or prepper stashes unlocked on your map, you may want to invite a friend to get the one single Co-Op trophy out of the way (Hitting it Off). Prepper Stashes count as "quests" for this.
The only thing you should look out for is trophy "Big Spender" for purchasing vehicles worth $50,000 at the garage. Don't spend money on weapons you don't need. Put everything in new cars at the garage to avoid unnecessary grinding at the end.
Step 2: Arcade (Online Mode)
Arcade is Far Cry 5's version of Multiplayer. It's an online-only mode that requires an internet connection. You can start arcade mode from the main menu or by visiting any arcade machine in the story. There are 5 trophies tied to this mode: ARCADE Player, ARCADE Hero, ARCADE Hunter, ARCADE Enthusiast, ARCADE Competitor.
Only "ARCADE Hunter" & "ARCADE Competitor" are tied to the Multiplayer. The other 3 trophies can be done solo. Reaching level 20 in Arcade doesn't take long at all, around 90 minutes. The Arcade trophies are very simple and straightforward, nothing to worry about. You can invite a friend to make this go a bit faster.
Step 3: Mop-Up
If you still have any trophies left, go get them now. Everything is still possible after the Story in free-roam. Congratulations on your Far Cry 5 platinum trophy!

Science Fact Put aside skepticism and help Larry (Solo Campaign only).
To earn this trophy you must complete an optional Side-Questline about Aliens. It is given to you by an NPC called Larry, in John's Region. He's at the fast travel point "Parker Laboratories" just west of Fall's End (the main town in John's region). When you find Larry he is trapped behind an electric barrier. You can disable it by turning off the 3 nearby generators (they get marked on the map once you discover Larry). Once Larry is free he will give you some follow-up quests. In total this questline consists of 4 quests: Always return to Larry after completing one of his quests. At the end of the questline you'll earn the "Science Fact" trophy / achievement. Can only be earned in Singleplayer or by the Host of a Co-Op Session (won't unlock for the joining player).
Ain't No Wallflower Who are these people? Speak to 50 citizens of Hope County (Solo Campaign only).
You must listen to 50 unique dialogues for this all the way to the end. Do not skip the dialogues, listen to them completely. Then this will come naturally as you play through the game. In order to rack up enough resistance points you'll have to play plenty of quests. So naturally, you'll talk to more than enough quest givers to unlock this trophy. If you still don't have it after the story, go to all fast travel points on the map and talk to everyone. Another easy trick is to talk to everyone at the 3 headquarters (Fall's End in John's region and Hope County Jail in Faith's Region, Wolf's Den in Jacob's region). Talk to everyone. Then simply fast travel from one of these locations to the other to make new dialogues appear. You can talk to the same person over and over again. You really just need to listen to 50 unique dialogues for this, not necessarily by different people. Each time you fast travel it will change the dialogues and you'll get "new" ones. Can only be earned in Singleplayer or by the Host of a Co-Op Session (won't unlock for the joining player).
Been There, Done That Complete all Hunting & Fishing Challenges (Campaign only).
There are a total of 16 animals and 12 fish (28 total). You can keep track of this by pressing Touchpad > Challenges > press to scroll to the tab on right side > scroll down to the "Hunting" section. You must complete all of the challenges listed in that menu. Some require you to catch multiple animals of one type. Before you Start: The animal spawns are slightly random. The hunting spots just mark the general spawn area. The animals usually spawn within a 200 meter radius around that area so just walk with Boomer for a minute. If nothing spawns, air drop to the nearest fast travel point and check again. Some of them (such as hares) can be pretty rare. ANIMALS:
Do note that only the ones listed above (as seen in the Challenges tracker) count. Some other animals such as Bulls, Cows, Dogs, Ducks, Birds, Goats, Pigs, Snakes etc. aren't needed. If you prefer map screenshots, check out this page: Far Cry 5 All Animal & Fish Locations Guide.
Liberator Liberate 5 locations from the Project at Eden's Gate (Campaign only).
Just liberate any 5 outposts in the game. You can go to all of them right at the beginning of the game (after prologue). » All Outpost Locations
Scavenger Follow the clues to the end of 3 treasure hunts (Solo Campaign only).
For this trophy you must complete 3 Prepper Stashes. They get marked on the map by a green diamond-icon when you get close to them, read notes or talk to people. While playing through the game you will get plenty of them to pop up on the map. Complete any 3 Prepper Stashes. Please note this is a singleplayer-only trophy. It cannot be earned in co-op! For all 27 Prepper Stash Locations in the game, refer to this guide: Far Cry 5 Prepper Stash Locations & Solutions.
What Now? Complete 3 Side Missions in Hope County (Solo Campaign only).
After liberating outposts you'll usually find 1-2 side missions there. You'll have to play some to get enough resistance points to liberate each region. In fact, while going for some of the other trophies, such as "Science Fact" or "Hope County Master Angler" you'll automatically have to complete 3 quests. For more on side quests with their starting points, refer to this guide: Far Cry 5 Complete Side Quests Walkthrough (All Side Quests).
The Greatest SOB That Ever Lived Laugh in danger's face by executing a Clutch Nixon stunt in each region (Solo Campaign only).
There are 8 Clutch Nixon Stunts in Far Cry 5 (2 in John's Region, 3 in Faith's Region, 3 in Jacob's Region). You only need to complete one per region. They are short quests that have you drive/fly through a series of checkpoints using different vehicles. For their locations check the video above or refer to this guide: Far Cry 5 All Clutch Nixon Stunt Locations
Pack Rat Grab 1 of each collectible item. You never know when it will come in handy (Solo Campaign only).
There are the following 6 collectible types:
You only need to pick up one of each, not all of them.
A Wing And A Prayer Fly Nick's plane. Hopefully you're not afraid of heights (Solo Campaign only).
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks when completing "Wingman" Story Quest in John's region.
Troublemaker Discover the joys of destroying cult property in every region (Solo Campaign only).
There are 4 regions with cult property on them. Destroy one property in each region to unlock this trophy. See the video for their locations. #1 – Dutch's Region (Shrines) – 0:05 If you want the location of every single destructible in the game you may like these guides:

Sewer Rat Destroy a cult water treatment pump and make them thirst for revenge (Solo Campaign only).
This is for completing the optional Story Quest "Clean Water Act" in Faith's region. You can trigger it at any time by going to the Water Treatment Plant in Faith's Region. For the starting point and detailed walkthrough refer to this page: Far Cry 5 Clean Water Act Story Mission
Peachy Keen Bait Peaches into going back home (Solo Campaign only).
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed. Unlocks when completing "Here Kitty, Kitty" Story Quest in Faith's region.
Kicking the Hornet's Nest Trigger the wrath of a Herald (Solo Campaign only).
Automatic story trophy, cannot be missed. Awarded for reaching Resistance Level 4 in any region (10,000 points in Jacob's Region / 13,000 points in Fatih's Region / 13,000 points in John's region).
ARCADE Player Reach level 20 in the Arcade (Arcade only).
You will get to level 20 automatically while you do all the other Arcade trophies. It doesn't take long at all (roughly 90 minutes of arcade gameplay). If you you are still missing a few levels after all trophies are done (which is highly unlikely), then repeat some quick solo arcade maps. They only take 2 minutes and give roughly half a level-up each time.
ARCADE Hero Play the 'Arcade Hero' mode 5 times (Arcade only).
Go to Main Menu > Arcade > Community > play Arcade Hero – Solo & Co-Op or Arcade Hero – Multiplayer. You must play 5 Arcade Hero matches total for this across these two modes.
ARCADE Hunter Kill 100 enemies in Arcade Multiplayer maps (Arcade only).
This will come naturally while you go for the 10 featured multiplayer map wins. I got around 250 multiplayer kills on my way to 10 featured map wins. Don't worry about this, just focus on 10 featured map wins. I did all my kills in Regular Multiplayer (not Hero Arcade) and that's what I can confirm to be working. You can keep track of your kills in the UPlay Club (but sadly there is no in-game tracker).
ARCADE Enthusiast Successfully complete 10 featured Arcade maps in Solo or Co-op (Arcade only).
Go to Main Menu > Arcade > Home > Play Solo & Co-Op > press to Filter > Game Mode: All Solo & Co-Op, Category: FEATURED, Sorty By: Newest > press to search. It will now show you what maps are currently featured (these can change over time). You can play the same map 10 times for this. However, after the match DO NOT hit replay! Quit out to the Arcade Menu. From there filter & search again to replay the map. Hitting replay at the end of the map doesn't count. Multiplayer maps don't count for this trophy, it has to be in the Solo & Co-Op Mode.
ARCADE Competitor Win 10 featured maps in Multiplayer (Arcade only).
Go to Main Menu > Arcade > Home > Browse Multiplayer Maps > press to Filter > Game Mode: All Multiplayer, Category: FEATURED, Sort By: A-Z > press to search. It will now show you what maps are currently featured. Now write down these map names or memorize them. It counts your featured map wins in both Regular Multiplayer & Hero Multiplayer. I recommend playing the Regular Multiplayer. Before each match it lets you vote on what map to play next. Always pick a featured map. What makes this a bit tedious is that you must actually WIN them. Just playing these maps isn't enough, it has to be a featured map and you have to be in the winning team 10 times. You can win on the same map multiple times for this (doesn't have to be 10 different featured maps). It still counts when you join in late and your team wins. Ties do not count. If you play Deathmatch it only counts as a win when you are the player with the most kills at the end (second and third place don't count). Team Deathmatch is the best mode to play since you can rely on your team and don't need to be the top-performing player. If you happen to join a map that is not featured, quit out to the arcade menu and search for a new match. Likewise, if your team falls too far behind feel free to quit it and search for a new match. There are no bans or penalties for quitting repeatedly. There is no way to see in-game how many wins you've got. Write down your featured map wins to keep track. Boosting Note: This trophy can be boosted with a group of 6 players in private matches.
The Hurk Locker Truly bond with Hurk by destroying 15 vehicles together (Campaign only).
First you must recruit Hurk Drubman. This happens automatically when completing main story mission "The Prodigal Son". It's marked on the map from the beginning of the map in the north of Jacob's region (at Fort Drubman). Now Hurk gets added to your Roster. Set him as your active teammate, aim at vehicles and press to make him destroy the vehicle. He carries a rocket launcher and will destroy all vehicles in one hit. You can simply go to a garage to spawn vehicles and make him shoot them, or stand on a road and wait for incoming traffic.
Hope County Master Angler Acquire all 4 Fishing Rods (Campaign only).
There are 4 Fishing Rods in Far Cry 5. You can view all of them (and their requirements) at every shop in the game. The rods are listed under Weapons, Fishing Rods. HOW TO ACQUIRE ALL 4 FISHING RODS: On the fish record boards you can see blue ribbons on the fish records you have broken. That's the only way to keep track of it. So you actually need to go inside the headquarters of each region, look at the board and check for a blue ribbon on the fish. When you catch a fish it also shows its size. Refer to the list below for the required sizes. It's also worth noting that the 4 fishes on the left side of the board only need to be caught once and will count for all 3 regions. You don't need to catch them 3 times. Only the 2-3 fishes on the right side of the board are required specifically for a region. You will have to catch every single fish in the game at a hard spot. This also completes half of the trophy "Been There, Done That". FISH SIZES REQUIRED FOR 4TH ROD (HARD SPOTS ONLY): All Areas:
Holland Valley:
Henbane River:
Whitetail Mountains:
HOW TO FISH: | ||
Locked and Loaded Buy all attachments for one weapon (Campaign only).
A very easy trophy — go to any shop and buy the two sights for the bow — trophy unlocked! It costs $1695 total (Red Dot Sight = $795, Marksman Sight = $900). That's all the customization options for the bow. The bow is found in many places and from many enemies over the course of the game. After you've found it, it will become available for customization at every shop.
Ghost Kill Perform a Headshot kill with any bow or rifle on any cultist more than 150m away (Campaign only).
Step 1: Equip the AR-CL with a "Marksman Adv-X Scope". The weapon is frequently dropped by many enemies, once picked up it gets added to the Sniper Rifle section at every store. The scope costs $1600. The beautiful thing about this camp is if you miss your shot one enemy will get behind the mounted turret. He will be standing perfectly still behind the turret, thus is an easy target. If you fail (i.e. kill too many enemies), air drop to the nearest fast travel point to make the enemies respawn. If you've already captured this outpost, you can reset it by going to the pause menu and clicking "Outpost Master", but you must have captured all other outposts for it to work. See All Outpost Locations. Side Note: This trophy can also be earned by shooting Helicopter Pilots / Plane Pilots with a Mounted Turret (MG).
Extra Crafty Craft 25 recipes (Campaign only).
Open your weapon wheel and press to open the Utility Wheel. There you can craft 6 types of recipes:
You can do this easily as you play through the game. Pick up herbs in the wilds and loot the bodies of enemies to gather crafting materials. The fastest way to farm this is by crafting "Ultimate Hunter". It only requires 3 herbs which can be found infinitely at fixed positions:
For all Materials and how to get them, refer to: Far Cry 5 Crafting Ingredients List.
Fashion First Purchase $1000 in clothing (Campaign only).
Go to any General Shop, for example in Fall's End (the main town in John's region) and buy clothes for $1000.
Big Spender Spend $50000 in Vehicle Shops (Campaign only).
Go to any Vehicle Shop, for example in Fall's End (the main town in John's region) and buy vehicles for $50,000. You'll get around $35,000 from just the story. More money can be earned quickly by hunting animals/fish and selling their skins. You'll have to complete all hunting challenges for trophy "Been There, Done That" and can resell the skins to get enough money. As long as you don't spend it all on weapons you'll get enough money while you go for all the other trophies.
Stocked Garage Buy 3 vehicles to populate your garage (Campaign only).
Go to any Vehicle Shop, for example in Fall's End (the main town in John's region) and buy any 3 vehicles.
Ace Killer Destroy 10 planes while driving any aerial vehicle (Campaign only).
Go to any Hangar or Boat Shop (green icons on map). Get a sea plane with a machine gun (Carmina, the Clusterduck, The Wild Goose). Carmina plane is unlocked automatically from Story Quest "Air Raid" in John's region (Quest Giver: Nick). Now spawn another plane and destroy it with your own plane (press R2/RT to use the machine gun). You can stay parked for this, no need to lift off. Stay on the ground, don't fly. With this method the trophy is super easy. After destroying the plane, spawn a new one at the Hangar/Boat Shop and repeat a total of 10 times.
Squash and Run Run over and kill 20 enemies (Campaign only).
Self-explanatory, run over 20 enemies with a car. Civilians do not count. An easy option is to drive into outposts and run over everyone there. Let them call reinforcements and kill them too. Two outposts will be enough to get this.
Fertilizing the Land Using a tractor, obliterate 5 enemies (Campaign only).
Go to the Outpost "Nolan's Fly Shop" in Faith's region. It's to the east of Hope County Jail, see location in video. You don't have to kill 5 enemies in one hit, it's 5 total (kill 5 x 1 single enemy). If you're already liberated this outpost you can reset it in the pause menu by clicking on "Outpost Master", but you must have liberated all of the Outposts for this to work. » Outpost Locations
Death From Above Drop a bomb from a plane and destroy or disable 4 vehicles at once (Campaign only).
Step 1: Go to a Boat Shop or Hangar (Green icon on map) and get one of the planes with bombs (Carmina, the Clusterduck, The Wild Goose). Carmina is unlocked automatically from Story Quest "Air Raid" in John's region (Quest Giver: Nick). Step 2: Fly the plane to any Garage (Green icon on map). Step 3: Park the plane in front of the garage. Then get 4 quads from the garage and place them around the plane. Make sure they touch the plane. It can be 4 x the same vehicle (Quad works best, other vehicles disappeared for me after I placed more than 2). Step 4: Get in the plane, stay in parked position (don't move) and press L2 + R2 / LT + RT to drop the bomb. It will blow up your plane and the 4 vehicles with it. You don't need to fly, just stay in parked on the ground.
Opportunity Knocks Using rocks or cans, distract 15 enemies (Campaign only).
You can throw rocks/cans by pressing . You have an infinite amount. You can work on this throughout the story or when capturing outposts. Whenever you must infiltrate a place, throw some rocks/cans to distract enemies. » Far Cry 5 All Outpost Locations
Road Gunner While driving or leaning out of a vehicle, kill 25 enemies (Campaign only).
For this you must shoot 25 enemies while driving. You can press while in a car to fire your weapon. The easiest option is to play the Side Quest "Widowmaker" in John's region. During this quest you will get a truck that has MGs mounted on the front and you can shoot them while driving. It was the first side quest I played and I earned the trophy from just that quest. This also unlocks the Widowmaker in garages for purchase. Then you can drive through hostile territory (or outposts) and kill enemies with it.
Fish Market Sell 20 fish for cash (Campaign only).
You will catch enough fish while working on trophy "Hope County Master Angler". There are plenty of fishing spots near water. Go to any of them and catch some fish. Then sell them at a general shop (for example in Fall's End in John's region). HOW TO FISH: 1) Press L1/LB, and then R1/RB to open the Utility wheel.
Where's the Beef? Tenderize a bull with your bare hands. To death (Campaign only).
Go to the field in the video. There are always a few bulls somewhere on that field. You must kill a bull using your bare hands only. Don't use any other weapons to weaken it, just fists. The easiest option is to consume the homeopathic "The Furious" from the utility wheel. This boosts your melee damage and will kill the bull in one hit. If you don't have it just keep playing and pick up Prairie Fire herbs in the wild to craft it (found in rocky areas and close to cliffs). Be sure to put the difficulty on easy for this. You can do this at any time even at the very start of the game after the prologue. Note: If you bought the Brass Knuckles at the store they count as a "melee weapon" and you can no longer earn the trophy by punching the bull. However, there is an easy workaround for this – simply kick the bull by aiming at the ground and pressing . Consume "The Furious" to kill it with one kick. It will still count for the trophy.
Ignoble Beasts Kill a bison using only melee weapons (Campaign only).
Go to the bison hunting spot shown in the video. There will always be some bisons in that general area. Be sure to bring a melee weapon such as a metal pipe or aluminium bat. The easiest option is to consume the homeopathic "The Furious" from the utility wheel. This boosts your melee damage and will kill the bison in one hit. If you don't have this it's still easy enough. Put the difficulty on easy for this. It only took me 17 hits with a metal pipe. Try to stand behind the bison so it can't attack you. If it moves around, move the other way to stay out of its attack radius.
Hitting it Off Play 3 quests with a friend (Campaign only).
*Online Co-Op Trophy* Go to the main menu and press the Touchpad to invite a friend. You can't invite directly from the story, it has to be from the main menu. There is no matchmaking for it so you must find a partner to do this trophy with you. It will continue the game on the host's save file. So make sure the host hasn't completed all the side quests / prepper stashes in the game yet. When you have unlocked 3 side quests or prepper stashes on the map, invite a friend. By far the fastest way to get it is to play 3 prepper stash treasure hunts. They count as "quests" for this trophy and only take 1-2 minutes each. Both players will earn the trophy, not just the host.
Like A Bird Use a wingsuit to travel more than 5000m (Campaign only).
For this you need to travel 5000 meters cumulatively with wingsuits. This does not have to happen in a single wingsuit jump. It adds up your total traveled distance across all your wingsuit jumps (so you can jump 5 x 1000 meters to unlock this). First, you must unlock the "Wingsuit" Perk. It costs 4 perk points. Then you can press R3 to use the wingsuit when jumping down cliffs / mountains. There's another perk called "Airdrop" for 10 perk points that lets you do an air drop when using any fast travel point, which makes this trophy a lot quicker to obtain.
Close and Personal Perform 25 close combat Takedown Kills (Campaign only).
For this only Takedown animations with count. When you approach an enemy you'll sometimes see the button prompt. It will trigger a special takedown animation, resulting in a one-hit kill. Do 25 of those to get the trophy. When you sneak up to enemies there will always be the prompt. It also shows up when you rush towards enemies out of cover and they have just recently noticed you. During combat it won't always show.
Explosive Surprise Kill 5 enemies with sabotaged vehicles (Campaign only).
First you must buy the "Saboteur" Perk. It costs 7 Perk Points. Now stand on any road by a fast travel point, in a hostile territory, and wait for an enemy car. I picked the fast travel point "Red's Farm Supply" in the middle of John's region. Enemy cars always spawn there within a few seconds, but any other fast travel point works too. When the enemy car comes, wait for it to stop and shoot the driver. Now stand by the driver's door and sabotage the hood of the car (Hold Square on PS4 / X on Xbox One). The remaining enemy can't hit you when you stand on the side of the hood rather than the front. It takes a few seconds to sabotage it. Once done, crouch around the car. Make sure the enemy stays nearby (he usually takes cover behind the car if you crouch). Now stand on the road again and wait for the next car. One usually spawns within 10-15 seconds after reloading the fast travel point.
Survivalist Purchase half of all perks available (Campaign only).
There are 50 perks you can purchase. For this trophy you need 25 perks. You get Perk Points by completing challenges, finding Prepper Stashes, and leveling up in the Arcade (Online Mode). Prepper Stashes get marked on the map when talking to people and reading notes. Doing all the other trophies (especially hunting challenges) gives you enough points to buy more than half the perks – if you stick to only the cheapest ones. Get the perks you really need and then save up your points to buy cheap perks. If you need more points do the Arcade trophies first, you'll get about 7 perk points from those. After that Prepper Stashes are the fastest way, they usually contain 3 perk magazines and only take 1-3 minutes to complete. New Game+ DLC
Infamous Complete New Game+ with Infamous difficulty
This trophy requires you to beat the game again on the newly added Infamous Difficulty in New Game+. After you have beaten the story, go to the main menu and select "New Game+". It was added in August 2022 as a free game update. To unlock the trophy you must pick the "RESIST" ending at the end of the game. It won't unlock with the "WALK AWAY" ending. The Resist option is the proper ending that results in a boss fight. If you have a friend who already completed it, they can simply invite you to the last mission and replay it with you in the party. Then both players earn the trophy! This way you can also "gift" the trophy to others. No need to replay the game yourself if you know someone with a save game before the last mission. You can also back up your save game to the cloud or on USB to copy it back later and redo the final mission for others. What stands out here is that it's not just the host anymore who earns the trophy. Of course you can also play through the entire thing with a friend or solo. It's not too difficult when you use a Sniper Rifle to take out enemies from afar. |
